EXTRACTIONS
Extractions at Oroville Dentistry
Description: An extraction procedure is the removal of a damaged tooth from the mouth.
Reasons to have an extraction: When a tooth becomes so damaged that it is unfixable, it is cost prohibitive to save, or when the bone around the tooth has been lost over time, an extraction is necessary.
What to expect at your appointment: The tooth and surrounding tissues will be thoroughly numbed. Slow and steady pressure will be applied to the tooth to expand the surrounding bone. Eventually the tooth will expand enough to release the tooth. In some cases a little bone will have to be removed to aid in freeing the tooth.
