REMOVABLE PARTIAL DENTURES

Also known as RPD

Removable Partial Dentures at Oroville Dentistry

  • Description: An RPD is a removable appliance used to replace multiple areas of missing teeth in the same arch/row. Artificial teeth are attached to a thin metal framework which is custom fabricated to attach securely to your teeth.
  • Reasons for getting an RPD: An RPD fills gaps in your smile, improving esthetics while also returning chewing function.
  • What to expect at your appointments: A number of very short appointments (usually 4) are required to create this appliance. Between each appointment the laboratory will be adding new parts to the appliance. The appliance is then checked in your mouth to be certain it fits perfectly. After the RPD has been worn for a short time, a follow-up appointment is usually necessary to fine-tune the device for maximum comfort and satisfaction.
