How is Nitrous oxide sedation provided to patients?

You are fitted with a small nasal mask.

Oxygen delivery is started and then the nitrous oxide gas and oxygen flow rates are slowly changed until the sweet spot is found for your sedation level for that day.

After the dental procedures or cleaning are complete, the gas is changed to pure oxygen to purge the Nitrous oxide from your system
